This is Sid (Vicious), a most unique and original symmetrical patterned artwork.
Balanced aesthetically and colourfully to be a real visual treat - "Sid" is a contemporary artwork produced in very low numbers, each piece, differing slightly, is hand crafted in Ireland one at a time.
Created using a mixture of tessellations, geometric and symmetrical patterns, Sid’s seven layers ooze authentic punk style. Incorporating subtle characteristics such as studs, mohawks, spikes, chains, fishnet and plaid. If Fish had feet this one would be wearing 16-hole cherry red doc Martens. He's got style, he's sharp, he's menacing and cool enough to grace any wall. Oh, he's made entirely of wood too...so well hard! He has hanging hooks fitted and can be displayed both vertically and horizontally..though preferably just one orientation at a time.
Sid measures 330 x 190 mm, being hand painted, glued and finished no two Sid’s are exactly the same, nor for that matter will there ever be many Sid’s.
This is the exact Sid as per the photos and has sligtly 'distressed' finish and is made entirely from plywood. Like most Punks he often comes in different colours so make sure to check those out too.
Each artwork piece is designed, and made from start to end by myself in Northwest Ireland using a mixture of wood materials, MDF and plywood varieties including birch, poplar, and mixed hardwoods. All colouring is from ‘Tikkurila’ acrylic and/or enamel paints. As wood textures naturally vary and I often mix paint shades myself the finished artworks can and do vary. Some pieces are totally unique in colour whereas others will always vary a little from the one I made before, which helps make your chosen piece more exclusive! The light angle,time of day etc make each piece look different at different times which adds to the ambience of each design.
