Rory Gallagher layered stratocaster style guitar piece with 'relic' feel and wild atlantic way type signage in homage to the birthplace of one of the greatest guitar players to have lived.
Aiming for a 'used' look like Rorys own stratocaster the scratchplate is yellowed and the woods and grains have been chosen to look natural, it is not designed to be a replica but more so inspired.
The six layers contain a total of 13 individual pieces of wood and incorporates a wild atlantic way type sign both to reference Rorys birthplace of Ballyshannon in Co. Donegal Ireland and the electric nature of his performances.
Hand painted and made one at a time (some actually in Ballyshannon) my work is produced in very low volume. Due to the natural wood look and vibe each piece varies slightly in characteristics but not design.
Measures 326mm x 188 mm approx.
Each artwork piece is designed, and made from start to end by myself in Northwest Ireland using a mixture of wood materials, MDF and plywood varieties including birch, poplar, and mixed hardwoods. All colouring is from ‘Tikkurila’ acrylic and/or enamel paints. As wood textures naturally vary and I often mix paint shades myself the finished artworks can and do vary. Some pieces are totally unique in colour whereas others will always vary a little from the one I made before, which helps make your chosen piece more exclusive! The light angle, time of day etc make each piece look different at different times which adds to the ambience of each design.
